Away for a Day Inspired by Slurping Turtle
Away for a Day: Slurping Turtle, Chicago
What happens when Chicago comfort food meets Chef Dennis Chan? You get a dinner worth traveling for.
On April 21 and 22, we’re taking a culinary trip to Chicago, inspired by Slurping Turtle and its playful approach to Japanese-inspired comfort food. No plane ticket, no packing, no airport delays. Just a special dinner at Blue Bamboo that brings a little Chicago inspiration to Jacksonville.
Chef Dennis has put together a menu full of bold flavors and unexpected combinations. Start with “Hamachi” nachos, a creative twist on a familiar favorite, followed by duck fat-fried chicken and a comforting bowl of tan tan mein ramen. We’ll finish with matcha cream puffs, bringing the distinctive flavor of Japanese green tea to a classic dessert.
It’s a chance to try something different, share a great meal, and discover what happens when a chef takes inspiration from a restaurant that made an impression.
